Countryside Read-A-Thon

February 23rd – March 6th, 2026

Please join us for our Countryside Read-A-Thon! The purpose of this event is to help foster a love of reading at Countryside! This year, our Read-a-Thon is not a fundraiser, it’s simply a fun event to spark a love of reading throughout our school.

Parents, please help your student(s) set realistic reading goals based on your child’s age and development.

Important Notes:

1. The Read-A-Thon will take place over two weeks, from February 23rd – March 6th, 2026. Please turn in all slips to your classroom teacher by Friday, March 6th. Prize drawings will be completed and sent home on Monday, March 9th. 

2. Parents, no need to keep track of minutes read this year! Instead, students will find fun ways to read with the help of a reading Bingo board. Even better, if they get a bingo, they can enter to win prizes like magnetic book marks, reading lights and $20 gift cards to Wild Rumpus!

3. What counts as reading? Any reading outside of school! Your child can read fiction, non-fiction, magazines and newspapers, poetry, etc. Listening to audio books counts too, as does being read to. Our goal is to foster a love of reading and reading comes in a lot of different shapes and sizes!
