2024-25 Annual PTO Family Contributions

The PTO organizes fundraisers, coordinates enrichment programs, and plans several service learning projects at Countryside. These funds help support the following activities and programs:  

• Back-to-School staff lunch
• All School Party
• Grounds and playground maintenance and beautification
• Celebration of Cultures
• 5th Grade Kindness Retreat
• Supplemental books and materials for the Media Center
• Edina Education Fund
• Science & Imagination Fair
• Scholarship assistance to in-need families
• Wellness Committee

For Countryside friends and families that want to donate an optional and unspecified extra amount on top of the Annual Family Contribution that will go to the General Fund line item in our budget. Thank you for your support!

Edina Public Schools, in anticipation of the Minnesota Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act (READ Act) signed into law on May 24, 2023, made proactive strides in preparing its educators to meet the new legislative requirements by providing training for instructors. The Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) program requires teachers to complete a rigorous 144-hour graduate-level course. By July 1, 2025, K-3 teachers, special education teachers, curriculum directors, instructional support staff, and those responsible for selecting literacy materials must complete this training. Edina Public Schools took the requirement a step further by ensuring PreK educators also participated in this critical professional development.

The PTO has committed to donating to the Edina Ed Fund to help support LETRS training for our staff. If you'd like to support this reading initiative, you may donate any amount you like.
