Field Day (3-5 & CP 3/4)

Description
Spectators and cheerleaders go straight to the lower playground and find your child. This event is dependent on weather and volunteers so there are NO rain date makeups.

This is a day to celebrate being active. Field day events are designed to provide students with an assortment of activities that include high & low intensity activity, individual participation, partner/small group participation, teamwork, motor skill practice, and some good old fashioned luck.

The K-2nd grade students and the 3rd-5th grade students on their specific Field Day will travel with their class and rotate to different game events which are stationed by parent/adult volunteers.

  • K-2 will do activities that involve individual, partner, or teamwork activities.

  • 3-5 events focus on teamwork with the class trying to get the best score or time versus the other classes that play the same game. At the end of the day we will announce the runner up and winner of each event. Then, we will finish the day with 5th grade Tug O'War contests. The winning team gets to pull against the Countryside staff!

Volunteers Needed:

To make this day a success, parent volunteers are needed for both days. If you would be willing to help out please contact Mr. Bleess or Mr. Koller to let us know which date(s) you could help out with. We like to make a goal of having 3 or more volunteers at each station activity. Your time commitment would be from 12:00-2:00. Starting at 12:00 sharp in the MPR, we will have a volunteer check-in and a short meeting explaining your assigned station and to answer any questions you may have.

  • Needed are 40-45 volunteers for both days. Volunteers will be teamed up to run/direct an event. We also are looking for 3-4 specific volunteers on each day that are willing to lightly run and sweat (tagging with a long pool noodle) with the students at one of the stations (this is one of the favorite stations of the students in year's past).

  • Please email or call Mr. Bleess or Mr. Koller to let us know you are willing to volunteer.

  • When contacting us please give us your name, child's name and what grade and classroom teacher they are in. It helps us to organize for planning.
